Victor Wyprysky
Chairman, President, CEO and Director
Mr. Wyprysky is the founder and Chairman of Chieftain Metals Corp. a mineral development and exploration company. He identified Chieftains’ first project, the high grade polymetallic Tulsequah mine in British Columbia and led the restructuring of over $200mm of its previous project debt and subsequent acquisition and financing in a highly successful IPO and assembled and led the development team that brought the project to full BFS, permitted, construction ready status. In a previous role as President of SRA he arranged approximately $150 million of project development financing and negotiated key smelter contracts to restart the Gordonsville Tennessee Zinc mine. Mr. Wyprysky brings experience and expertise from a successful career of over 25 years as a senior partner at major Canadian investment banks including, Burns Fry (predecessor to BMO Nesbitt Burns), Gordon Capital, Scotia Capital, and was also Founder and President of Harris Partners, a boutique investment bank. During his investment banking career in addition to being responsible for numerous corporate financing transactions he led and pioneered several industry financial innovations including research and project tax partnerships, split share structures, public hedge fund units and silver streaming structures and brings extensive knowledge of global financial markets and resource financing to the acquisition and financing of development activities of the Corporation. Mr. Wyprysky received his BA in Economics and Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario and his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Peter F. Chodos
Executive Vice President, Corporate Development
In addition to being Executive Vice President, Corporate Development of Chieftain, Mr. Chodos also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Portex Minerals Inc.. Mr. Chodos has over 30 years’ experience in the financial markets primarily in Canada but also in the United States and the United Kingdom. He has completed many merger and acquisition transactions as well as private and public financings and restructurings. In 2004, Mr. Chodos co-founded Mt. Auburn Capital Corp., a structured products firm. From July 2006 to February 2009, Mr. Chodos was a Managing Director of BluMont Capital Corporation, a provider of alternative investment products to retail investors in Canada. Most recently, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of a publicly listed mining merchant bank. Mr. Chodos has a B.Comm from McGill University and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Business Valuator.
Keith Boyle, P.Eng, MBA
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Boyle has over 25 years experience in building and operating narrow vein and bulk underground mines as well as open pit mines with a strong focus on efficiency and cost control. He has led the implementation of industry leading health, safety and environmental management systems and was recognized by the City of Timmins, Ontario for the implementation of a citizen’s consultation group. Mr. Boyle was also recognized by the mining industry with a second J.T. Ryan trophy for the Stobie Mine for managing the safest mine in Ontario.
Prior to joining Chieftain Metals, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Alexis Minerals Corp. where he successfully led the completion of three NI 43-101 feasibility studies, completed the construction and development of the Lac Herbin mine. Prior to Alexis Minerals Mr. Boyle was Manager, Business Development for Dynatec Corporation and has previous management expertise in various types of operations with Dynatec, Inco, Placer Dome and Aur Resources. Mr. Boyle is a Professional Engineer (Ontario and Quebec) and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Alberta.
Pompeyo Gallardo
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Gallardo has over 20 years of experience in the finance sector. He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from Universidad Del Pacifico (Lima). Special Studies in Finance and Control at Harvard University and Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) from the International Association of Risk and Compliance Professionals in Washington, USA. Mr. Gallardo is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Originally from Peru, Mr. Gallardo worked for over 10 years as Chief Financial Officer at a private medical supplies company based in Lima, during which time he led and executed many strategic activities specially related to cost control, cash management and quality management systems. Mr. Gallardo was a Financial Analyst at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and worked as Senior Credit Risk Manager of Provision, Analytics and Model Development at Scotiabank in Toronto, during which time he was mainly responsible to determine the level of required reserves to cover future losses coming from the bank’s international credit risk exposure.
